On 11 March, 2019 Thomas Chouanière published an article on the Monaco Tribune website about the new diplomatic representatives in Monaco.

Antigua and Barbuda, Panama, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bahrain have now their diplomatic representatives in Monaco.

The Sovereign Prince received their credentials at the end of February. The appointment of new plenipotentiaries is common in the Principality.

Establishing relations with other States, while promoting their representation within the Principality is one of the tasks that occupies the time of Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General for External Relations and Cooperation. She welcomed four new ambassadors at a lunch at the Hôtel Ermitage. Their Excellencies Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar, for the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kemal Muftic, for Bosnia and Herzegovina, José A. Fabrega Roux, for the Republic of Panama and Dario Item, for Antigua and Barbuda, became Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors, according to the established formula.

Some of them represent their respective countries in other States: Mr. Kemal Muftic in India, Denmark and Iran, Mr. Dario Item in Liechtenstein and Spain.

In his wishes to the press at the beginning of the year, Gilles Tonelli, Government Counsellor — Minister of Foreign Affairs, recalled that, in the other direction, 16 ambassadors represented the Principality in 28 states.

141 nations have established diplomatic relations with Monaco, the most recent being Barbados.

On the external representation side, the last four appointments of ambassadors are in addition to the accreditation in October of plenipotentiaries for Kuwait, South Korea, Jamaica and Greece.
