In 2016 Dario Item began his diplomatic career as Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda.

Dario Item holds three important positions: Ambassador in the Principality of Monaco, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda in Madrid and Ambassador in the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Dario Item and his commitments as Ambassador

Between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, Dario Item met the King of Spain Felipe VI, Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The ambassador presented his letters of credence to his respective sovereigns in accordance with the solemn ceremony under the traditional protocol, which formalised the accreditation.

The ambassador’s handing over of his credentials thus gave rise to his diplomatic activity in the three states. Formally accredited, Dario Item undertakes to keep active the economic relations with the nations and to improve the cultural and commercial relations between Antigua and Barbuda and these countries.

The ambassador also has the important task of promoting his country’s image, traditions and history. The history of Antigua and Barbuda is long and ancient. It has known slavery and a long colonization and finally gained independence from the UK in 1981, while continuing to be a member of the Commonwealth and to recognize Queen Elizabeth as its sovereign.

The 365 beaches of Antigua

Everyone knows the island of Antigua for its beaches, crystal clear sea, orchids, bamboos, palm trees and excellent climate. That is why it is a popular holiday destination.

The island has 365 beaches, all free and open to the public. “One for every day of the year” as the locals say.

By boat is the best way to explore them all and choose the one you like most.

But what are the best beaches in Antigua? Here are a few:

It is located near the village of Old Road, along the southern coast of the island. It is a large beach that offers clear water, fine sand and excellent snorkeling spots.
