After the Festa della Repubblica Italiana, Madrid welcomed Passione Italia, the event dedicated to Made in Italy and organized in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Italian Embassy and the main Italian institutions in Spain. Among the prominent personalities were the Italian Ambassador to Madrid, Stefano Sannino, the President of the CCIS (Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain) Marco Pizzi, the Councillor for Internalisation, Start Up-Innovation of the Campania Region, Valeria Fascione. And then the Association Emiliano Romagnola in Spain (As.Er.Es) and the ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda, Dario Item.

Passione Italia: stands, activities and news

The eleventh edition of the event was held from May 31 to June 2 at the Park Madrid Rio stands in the heart of the capital on the river Manzanares. The main protagonist was the Campania region and has achieved extraordinary success.

Gastronomy and tourism played a major role in the 47 stands. In many food trucks and stands, in fact, you could taste the typical dishes of the different Italian regions, such as pasta, pizza, arancini, risotto and lasagna, while in others Italian products were on sale, including cheeses, preserves, sauces, cakes and baked goods. Some exhibition spaces were also dedicated to the promotion of Italian tourist destinations and the sale of handicrafts.

Passione Italia is an event suitable for everyone and therefore also perfect for families with children. In fact, many activities were organized to entertain children, who were able to have fun with bouncy castles, magic shows and dance and pizza workshops. Inside the Park Madrid Rio was set up, as in the last edition, a Food Lab of 60 square meters where 12 activities were held including tastings, show cooking, seminars and competitions. New this year was the Beach area, which allowed visitors to relax.

More than 60 thousand people took part in the many cultural, commercial and musical activities organized to promote Italian excellence in the food and wine, craft and tourism sectors. So a record of participation among exhibitors and visitors that satisfied the organizers and 28 sponsors of the event.
